New Delhi: Two unidentified men on a motorcycle opened fire outside the house of a Dubai-based businessman in Delhi’s Lok Vihar area in the early hours of Wednesday, October 28.
The incident prompted a police investigation into possible links with criminal gangs. No injuries were reported
According to police, six rounds were fired around 5 am outside the residence of Sahil Jain, also known as “Google”, in A-Block of Lok Vihar.
Bullets struck a car parked outside the house and a nearby residence. CCTV footage reportedly shows the suspects arriving on a motorcycle, with one of them getting off and firing before both fled the scene.
A purported audio recording circulating on social media claimed responsibility for the firing on behalf of the Rohit Godara gang. In the recording, a man identifying himself as Rahul Fatehpur allegedly described the shooting as a warning to Jain over his purported support for the gang’s rivals.

However, the authenticity of the audio and the identity of the speaker have not been independently verified, and police have not officially confirmed the gang’s claim.
Delhi Police are also investigating the possible involvement of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Officials said Jain had allegedly received a threat from Bishnoi in 2021, with a case related to the threat registered with the Special Cell in 2023.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Northwest) Akansha Yadav said there had been no fresh threat reported before the latest incident and that investigators were gathering intelligence to establish the motive.
Police recovered one live cartridge and two empty cartridge cases and are analysing CCTV footage to identify the suspects and trace their movements. Investigators are examining whether the firing was linked to an extortion attempt.
