India VS New Zealand ODI 3 days series starts tomorrow, all you need to know

New Delhi: India vs New Zealand three-day ODI series is all set to start at Gujarat’s Vadodara from tomorrow, which is January 11.

This series is a part of New Zealand’s Tour of India. The first match will be played in Vadodara and the remaining two matches are scheduled on January 14th (Wednesday) and 18th  (Sunday)  at Rajkot and Indore.

Though, Shreyas Iyer’s availability is subject to fitness clearance from the BCCI COE, he was cleared for the match because of his amazing performance in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Hardik Pandya is not part of the series because he will be playing at T20I, and his workload is being managed for that.

Shubhman Gill will return as captain after his neck injury, and Shreyas Iyer will be seen as the vice-captain of the squad. Meanwhile, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, the two senior cricket players of the team, are also being featured in the scheduled series against New Zealand.

The names dropped for the series are Tilak Varma, as he replaced Iyer in the previous series. Ruturaj Gaikwad who deserved to be part of the squad and should have been most retained as he scored an amazaing century in the domestic cricket, has been dropped from the series. Meanwhile, Dhruv Jurel who did not get a chance to perform in the last series, has also been dropped from this series.

Apart from this ODI series, India will be playing five T20 international matches as preparation for the T20 World Cup.
