Three killed in separate road mishaps in Khordha and Sambalpur

Bhubaneswar: Odisha witnessed two heart-wrenching accidents which led to the death of three people in different parts of Khordha and Sambalpur districts on Thursday.

In a tragic incident, a man and his daughter died in a collision between their auto-rickshaw and a Safari vehicle near Shankar Math under the limits of Dhanupali police station in Sambalpur.

The deceased have been identified as Surendra Behera and his five-year-old daughter Subhashree Behera.

Sources claimed that as a speeding Safari vehicle collided with their auto rickshaw the father-daughter duo died on the spot.

Later the safari skidded off and turned into the river bank.

On being informed, the rescue teams and the police reached at the site and recovered the bodies.

Meanwhile, another accident in Khordha claimed the life of one woman near Begunia Sarua Bazaar.

As per reports, the lady was travelling on her scooty when she was rammed into by a bus on Khordha-Balangir National Highway.

The impact of the accident was so severe that the woman died on spot.

Following which, agitated locals blocked the highway demanding compensation and severe punishment to the person guilty.

Traffic was disrupted for hours due to the agitation.
