Hoshiarpur, January 10: In a fatal accident, four people were killed after a car collided with a bus in Hoshiarpur, Punjab, police said on Saturday. The incident occurred at 5 am on Saturday due to fog-related poor visibility. Assistant-Sub Inspector (ASI) Anil Kumar told ANI, "The people in the car were on the way to Amritsar, and the bus was departing from Hoshiarpur... The incident happened at around 5 am," he said.

Meanwhile, in Jaipur, Rajasthan, one person was killed and at least 12 others were injured in a hit-and-run incident involving an Audi car at Kharabas Circle The accident occurred near Kharabas Circle in Jaipur's Journalist Colony late on Friday night. All the injured were admitted to SMS Hospital and Jaipuria Hospital for treatment.

Confirming the details, Station House Officer (SHO) Madan Lal said that one death has been reported so far, while 12 people sustained injuries. "1 person has died till now and 12 are injured... 2 people have been detained... In a separate incident in Himachal Pradesh, a private bus en route from Shimla-Solan to Kupvi plunged into a deep gorge near Haripurdhar in Sirmaur district, resulting in the deaths of 14 people. Himachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, who met with the injured at the hospital in Nahan on Friday, said the accident would be investigated. He also praised the support of locals in relief efforts.

"14 people lost their lives in the bus accident. We met the injured patients at Nahan hospital. The cause of the accident will be probed to know whether there was a mechanical failure or overloading. People have extended a lot of support to the administration in the relief work," he said. "The state govt stands by the victims. So far, 9 bodies have been handed over to the kin of the victims," he added.
