Transportation Secretary's daughter calls TSA "unconstitutional," wants it gutted

Evita Duffy-Alfonso, daughter of Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy, called the TSA "unconstitutional" Thursday after airport security made her wait 15 minutes for a pat-down, and she nearly missed her flight.

According to The Hill, Duffy-Alfonso, who is pregnant, requested a pat-down instead of the body scanner over radiation concerns for her unborn child. She said agents were "passive-aggressive, rude, and tried to pressure me and another pregnant woman into just walking through the scanner because it's 'safe.'"

"TSA = unreasonable, warrantless searches of passengers and their property," she wrote on X. "That means it violates the Fourth Amendment and is therefore unconstitutional." She urged President Trump and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem to abolish the agency.

When someone pointed out her father runs the Transportation Department, Duffy-Alfonso clarified: "He isn't in charge of TSA. TSA is under DHS, which is run by Kristi Noem. If he did have TSA, he'd radically limit it and lobby Congress to abolish it."
