Ultraviolette Shockwave Launch Delayed To Q1 2027 – New 100V Architecture

First unveiled in March 2025, the electric enduro motorcycle will arrive with revised architecture and a choice of single- or dual-seat configurations

Ultraviolette has confirmed that its upcoming Shockwave electric motorcycle will launch in the first quarter of 2027. The company also announced that the motorcycle will adopt its newly developed 100V architecture, following a similar update for the Tesseract electric scooter.

The announcement extends the wait for the Shockwave, which was unveiled alongside Tesseract at Ultraviolette’s Fast Forward India event in March 2025. Deliveries were originally planned for 2026. The latest communication confirms a January–March 2027 launch window, with final specifications and further details to follow closer to its introduction.

Shockwave Moves To 100V Architecture

The shift to 100V architecture is the biggest technical development in the latest announcement. Ultraviolette says it brings the potential for stronger power delivery, higher thermal efficiency and faster charging to its lightweight motorcycle platform.

Revised performance and charging figures have not yet been announced. The architecture change means the specifications shared at the original unveiling should be treated as reference figures until the production model’s details are released.

Ultraviolette describes the Shockwave as a “FUNDURO”, drawing inspiration from the raw, spirited character of classic two-stroke motorcycles. Its focus remains on low weight and an engaging riding experience.

Production Line Setup Begins

Ultraviolette has begun setting up the Shockwave’s production line within its existing manufacturing facility. The company has also confirmed that the motorcycle will be offered in both single- and dual-seat configurations.

Co-founder and CEO Narayan Subramaniam said the Shockwave and Tesseract have been developed in parallel over the past year. He described the move to 100V architecture as an important step towards delivering the riding experience originally envisioned for the motorcycle.

What Was Announced In March 2025?

At its original unveiling, Shockwave was announced at an introductory price of Rs 1.5 lakh for the first 1,000 buyers, followed by Rs 1.75 lakh, ex-showroom. Pricing for the revised production version remains awaited.

The initial specification sheet listed 14.5 bhp peak power, 505 Nm of torque at the wheel and a weight of 120 kg. Claimed performance included 0–60 km/h in 2.9 seconds, a top speed of 120 km/h and an IDC range of 165 km.

The motorcycle was shown with a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel combination, telescopic forks offering 200 mm travel and a rear monoshock with 180 mm travel. Other announced equipment included a connected digital console and dual-channel ABS with rear switchability.

Follows Tesseract’s Revised Timeline

The Shockwave update follows Ultraviolette’s May 2026 announcement that Tesseract would arrive in January 2027. The scooter also moved to 100V architecture, alongside changes to seating comfort, rider accessibility and floorboard practicality following customer feedback. Both products are now scheduled for introduction in early 2027.

Fresh Funding To Support Expansion

The update also follows Ultraviolette’s recently announced $85 million funding round, with Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan participating as an investor and joining as an adviser. The funds will support production expansion, upcoming products including Shockwave and Tesseract, and development of future EV platforms.
