TVS iQube Crosses 10 Lakh Production Milestone In India
by Pearl Daniels · RushLaneTVS Motor Company has announced that the one millionth TVS iQube electric scooter has rolled out from its manufacturing facility in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. The milestone comes nearly six years after the electric scooter made its debut in 2020 and reflects the rapid growth of electric two-wheeler adoption in India.
Strong Growth Since Launch
Launched in January 2020, the TVS iQube initially started as a single-variant electric scooter. Over the years, the lineup has expanded significantly with multiple variants, battery capacities and range options to cater to different customer requirements.
The company currently has a sales and service network spanning more than 3,300 touchpoints across over 3,000 cities, helping expand the reach of the iQube across urban as well as smaller markets. The milestone also comes at a time when TVS continues to strengthen its position in India’s electric two-wheeler segment. According to recent sales data, TVS iQube registered 42,192 units in May 2026, recording a healthy 52.64% year-on-year growth. It is the No 1 selling scooter of India.
Earlier this month, TVS Motors’ cumulative electric vehicle sales had crossed the 10 lakh (1 million) units milestone across all electric two-wheelers. However, the overwhelming majority of those sales have come from the iQube, which remains the company’s flagship EV. Production milestones have also accelerated rapidly for the scooter. While it took more than three years to reach the first one lakh units, the next five lakh units were achieved in just 16 months, highlighting the sharp rise in demand for the iQube in recent years.
Nearly 15 Billion Kilometres Covered
TVS also shared cumulative usage statistics for the iQube community. Since launch, iQube owners have collectively ridden over 14.94 billion kilometres. According to the company, this has helped avoid approximately 522,969 tonnes of CO? emissions. TVS estimates that the environmental impact is equivalent to planting around 20.9 million trees.
The iQube is designed, engineered and manufactured in India, with production taking place at TVS Motor Company’s Hosur manufacturing facility. Commenting on the milestone, Sudarshan Venu, Chairman, TVS Motor Company, said that the rollout of one million iQubes reflects the increasing acceptance of electric mobility in everyday transportation. He added that the achievement is backed by years of investment in engineering, product development and manufacturing capabilities.
Expanding EV Portfolio
TVS continues to expand its presence in the electric mobility space through investments in research and development, manufacturing capacity and charging ecosystem support. With the one million production milestone now achieved, the iQube remains one of the key products driving TVS Motor’s electric vehicle business, alongside the company’s broader plans to strengthen its EV portfolio in both domestic and international markets.
