MG Majestor Price Hike August 2026 Up To Rs 1.5 Lakh – Details

JSW MG Motor India has been one of the most notable large SUV manufacturers as it challenged the Toyota Fortuner’s supremacy with Gloster SUV. Now, the company has replaced the Gloster with Majestor and has intensified the rivalry against the Fortuner. After showcasing it at Bharat Mobility Expo in 2025, it was unveiled in India in February 2026.

After the unveiling, launch happened in May 2026 and in August 2026, MG Majestor received its first price hike which takes the Ex-sh price up by up to Rs 1.5 lakh. MG Motor has not confirmed whether this price hike is accompanied by a bump in features and equipment.

MG Majestor Price Hike August 2026

Currently, MG Majestor has been launched in just one fully-loaded trim level. Called Savvy, it spawns multiple variants across different drivetrain options and seating layouts. Variants include Savvy 4X2 6S, Savvy 4X2 7S and Savvy 4X4 7S. At launch, Savvy 4X2 was priced at Rs 40.99 lakh and Savvy 4X4 at Rs 44.99 lakh (both prices Ex-sh).

It has to be noted that MG Motor had also announced the Sharp 4X2 variant when it was first unveiled in February 2026. But the same was not part of the launch, which happened in May 2026. The price hike in the month of August 2026 is up to Rs 1.5 lakh on the Ex-sh prices and is only applicable to Savvy 4X2 variants (6s and 7S).

Savvy 4X4, on the other hand, does not get any price hikes and is still priced at Rs 44.99 lakh (Ex-sh). With the price hike, both Savvy 4X2 variants now command a price tag of Rs 42.49 lakh (Ex-sh). Except for the off-roading hardware like transfer case with low range, 10 off-road modes, triple locking diffs and M-Crawl, both 4X2 and 4X4 variants get similar features and tech.

What Does Majestor Bring To The Table?

MG Majestor directly takes on ladder frame SUVs like Toyota Fortuner and then Isuzu MU-X. Price-wise, it also rivals the likes of monocoque SUVs like Skoda Kodiaq, VW Tayron, Jeep Meridian and the recently launched Honda ZR-V. For the price, MG Majestor makes a tempting proposition if we take the sheer VFM quotient from the features, luxury, technology and equipment on offer.

Where off-roading is concerned, MG Majestor packs triple locking differentials, 10 off-road modes, crawl mode (M-Crawl) and many more off-road tech. It is the largest vehicle in segment and cabin is significantly roomier than rivals too. Majestor is powered by a sole 2.0L Twin Turbo Diesel engine with 215.5 PS of peak power and 478.5 Nm torque, mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox.
