With India being the world’s largest 2W market, Honda has been patenting a lot of their scooters and motorcycles for our market. However, not all of them will see the light of day as they’re mostly IP protection exercises and the company does not have launch intentions with them. One such 2W is the Honda UC3 which may or may not launch in India.

Currently, Honda UC3 has been launched in Thailand and Vietnam. In Thailand, UC3 has been priced at THB 142,600 before subsidies which turns out to be roughly around Rs 4.1 lakh. With subsidies, prices will come down to THB 132,600 (Rs 3.82 lakh). For Vietnam, Honda is currently importing UC3 via CBU route, but CKD operations are expected to start soon.

Unlike the Activa e, Honda UC3 comes with fixed batteries and it is Honda’s first electric scooter to come with LFP battery chemistry. Honda UC3 has an interesting design language as it looks like a maxi scooter from the front and a neo retro scooter from the side body panels, seat shape and rear design.

There’s a three-piece LED DRL setup at the front which will double up as turn indicators as well. LED headlights are positioned exactly below the DRLs and are rather sleek and discrete. Above DRLs we can see a windshield and this is where the charging flap is present too. We can see a complex seat design along with rear LED taillight and indicator setup that isn’t flat like in the front.
