New Hero Xpulse 150 Debuts

Hero MotoCorp is expanding its premium motorcycle segment and updating its current portfolio at the same time. We recently witnessed the launch of updated Xtreme 160R 4V along with updated Xtreme 250R. Now, it is the turn of Xpulse family for a new addition to further expand its appeal.

We’re talking about a baby Xpulse that will fit perfectly into the shoes of Hero Impulse. This motorcycle was spied before and was speculated to be a 160. But latest images uploaded by Reddit user xtremeAnkit show the bike without any camouflage and the production name, which is Xpulse 150.

XPulse 150 Dual Sport Leaked

Ahead of its global debut, Hero Xpulse 150 has been leaked without any camouflage. What was previously speculated to be a 160, is now confirmed to be a 150. In terms of design, Hero Xpulse 150 takes the shape of a classic dual sport motorcycle. In fact, Hero is advertising Xpulse 150 as a dual sport motorcycle this time around.

If you recall, Hero Impulse was advertised as a ‘Trans Roader’, for some reason, instead of just calling it a dual sport motorcycle. We can see some family DNA adopted on Xpulse 150 as it gets similar looking fuel tank shape as Xpulse 200. It has more flamboyant tank shrouds and then a protruding beak.

Headlight is not a circular unit on Xpulse 150, like it is in Xpulse 200. It has a H-insignia reminding us of LED headlights seen with Glamour X or Passion XTEC. There are LED tail lights and LED turn indicators too. There is a tall windshield above the headlight and a small LCD digital cluster can be seen with Xpulse 150, suggesting it won’t probably get a TFT cluster.

In these pictures, we can see a White and Red colourway, which looks quite nice and there could be more. There’s a single-piece seat along with practical rear luggage rack. We can see fork gaiters and long travel suspension setup with a rear mono-shock. There’s also an engine crash guard along with a belly pan too.

Engine Specs

You might have noticed a dial on the left side, which is to control the flow of the fuel to the carburettor. This suggests this particular Hero Xpulse 150 could be for global markets like South America, Africa and others, while an India-spec version with fuel injection and probably ETB with cruise control may be on the cards.

This engine is a 150cc unit and it is capable of developing 12.2 bhp of peak power at 6500 RPM and then 12.8 Nm of peak torque at 5500 RPM, mated to a 5-speed gearbox. This is an air cooled engine and the wheels look like they’re 21-inch and 18-inch combination.
