New Hyundai Bayon Interior Photos Reveal More Features Ahead Of Launch
by Satya Singh · RushLanePositioned as an ‘Intelligent Utility Vehicle’, the Hyundai Bayon will serve as the middle ground between the sub-4-metre Venue and the 4.33-metre Creta
Hyundai recently unveiled the Bayon for India, the newest entrant in the midsize SUV segment. Launch is scheduled for 26th October 2026, when prices will also be announced. Bookings are currently open for a token amount of Rs 11,000. Ahead of its launch, Hyundai has posted a fresh set of images of the Bayon, revealing some new features.
Panoramic sunroof confirmed
At the time of its debut, it was not clear if Bayon will have a single-pane sunroof or a larger glass area. The latest images confirm the presence of a panoramic sunroof. This is likely to be offered with the higher trims. Mid-spec trims may get a single-pane sunroof. A significant percentage of SUV buyers prefer a panoramic sunroof, something that can work as an advantageous factor for Bayon.
Interiors have an engrossing dual-tone theme of black and light grey. Seats appear to be using a combo of leatherette material and fabric. Buttons on the driver’s seat reveal that powered function is available. ‘Bose’ marked speakers can be seen in the front and second row, hinting at a premium audio experience for users. Other key features include Hyundai’s 4-dot steering wheel with mounted controls and dual curved screens.
Both the front and rear seats have a good amount of legroom. However, adjustable headrests are available only for the window-side passengers and not the middle passenger. Anyone sitting in the middle of the second row could also feel constrained by the prominent central tunnel. A tower-style console can be seen, likely housing the rear AC vents and USB ports.
Overall, the cabin feels premium and spacious. Front and rear dashcams are expected as well as an IRVM. Doors and hand rests have distinctive, contemporary detailing, which enhances the overall ambience. Features revealed at the time of debut include a vertically stacked central panel and automatic gear selector.
Advanced tech, performance
Bayon is equipped with Hyundai’s Connected Car Navigation Cockpit, or ccNC, featuring NVIDIA-accelerated infotainment technology. This allows access to functions such as split screen operation, online onboard navigation, quick access controls and personalised user profiles. Over the air (OTA) updates are supported for up to 19 vehicle controllers.
This will ensure that users can access a range of software upgrades without having to visit a dealership. Bayon will also have Bluelink connectivity suite, offering more than 70 connected features. These include location services, remote control functions, vehicle information, remote start/stop and smartwatch connectivity.
Powering the Bayon will be a four-cylinder, 1.5-litre MPi petrol engine that generates 115 PS and 144 Nm of torque. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual and an IVT automatic. This is the same engine as offered with the Creta. Bayon could be offered at a starting price of around Rs 9.5 lakh. Top variants could touch Rs 14 lakh. Hyundai Bayon will enter an already crowded, yet fast-growing segment, where it will challenge other midsize SUVs.
