Honda Activa sales declined, but retained its leadership in the segment in July 2026. Electric scooters continued to post triple-digit growth.

After taking a look at the top 10 two wheelers last month, let us now take a look at the the top 10 scooters. Scooter sales witnessed healthy growth in July 2026. Total scooter sales, including domestic and exports, stood at 8,71,355 units, registering a 23.75% YoY increase over 7,04,108 units sold in July 2025. Domestic sales grew 23.75% to 7,98,190 units, while exports also rose by 23.83% to 73,165 units. Interestingly, EV scooters continued to gain traction, accounting for 11.24% of two-wheeler retail sales in July 2026, up from 7.65% in July 2025 and 10.59% in June 2026.

Despite recording lower volumes compared to last year, Honda Activa remained India’s best-selling scooter. Sales stood at 2,06,170 units, down by 13.16% from 2,37,413 units sold in July 2025. Even with the decline, Activa commanded a 30% share of the top-10 scooter segment. TVS Jupiter retained second place with 1,48,595 units, posting an 18.99% YoY growth over 1,24,876 units. Suzuki Access continued its strong run in third position with 82,505 units, up 21.02% from 68,172 units last year.

Electric Scooters Continue Strong Momentum

TVS iQube emerged as the fourth best-selling scooter overall with 59,386 units, registering a massive 157.87% YoYgrowth. Bajaj Chetak followed closely with 47,184 units, recording the highest growth among the top five at 307.32%. Ather Rizta, which has quickly established itself as Ather’s volume driver, sold 24,833 units, growing 118.89% year-on-year.

Hero Vida, although outside the overall top-10 scooter rankings, also posted strong numbers with 22,707 units, up 102.29% YoY. Among electric scooters alone, TVS iQube led the segment with a 38.53% market share, followed by Bajaj Chetak at 30.62%, Ather Rizta at 16.11%, and Hero Vida at 14.73%.

Ntorq, Burgman Register Healthy Gains

TVS Ntorq remained the sixth best-selling scooter with 38,336 units, recording a healthy 46% growth over last year’s 26,258 units. Suzuki Burgman Street also posted positive numbers, selling 30,607 units, an increase of 29.03% over 23,720 unitssold in July 2025.

Honda Dio was among the few scooters to witness a decline. Sales fell 7.33% to 25,903 units, compared to 27,951 unitsa year earlier. Yamaha rounded off the list with both its scooters showing healthy growth. RayZR recorded 23,760 units, up 44.69%, while the company also benefited from improving demand in the scooter segment.

Scooters Continue To Gain Ground

The scooter segment continues to witness healthy momentum across both ICE and electric models. While Honda Activa remains the undisputed leader despite a decline, rivals such as TVS Jupiter and Suzuki Access continue to strengthen their positions.
