Mahindra Auto is working on a new sub 4m SUV and the testing is going on in full swing. We’re talking about the production-spec version of Vision S Concept showcased in 2025. Even though it was previously speculated to be next-gen Bolero, the S in Vision S is likely to suggest that it could be an extension of Scorpio nameplate into the high-volume B SUV segment.

Testing of Vision S production spec model was going on even before the concept was displayed in 2025. Latest test mules show interiors of Vision S (or Scorpio Sport sub 4m SUV) in greater detail along with a closer look at its exterior highlights.

In terms of design, Mahindra Vision S concept sort of reminded us of Chery Fulwin X3L, especially in the Yellow colour. It has a boxy silhouette and will impart greater road presence owing to its tall-boy design. In the latest spy shots, we can see something similar and this particular test mule still has makeshift round LED headlights from Thar Roxx.

Previous spy shots have confirmed the presence of inverted-L-shaped headlights, similar to the ones seen on concept model. Illuminated grille seen in concept is less likely to make it to production. From the sides, it sort of reminds of a Land Rover Defender (in a good way) and notable attributes here are flush door handles, large wheels and large glass area.

At the rear, Vision S gets a tailgate-mounted spare wheel that gives it a traditional SUV look. Based on the NU-IQ platform, Mahindra Vision S production spec version will be a monocoque SUV which could get attributes like front and rear independent suspension, all-four disc brakes, multi-fuel powertrain options (Petrol, Diesel, EV and even Hybrid).

Interiors Spied In Detail!

On the inside, Mahindra Vision S production-spec model being tested, features a similar interior layout as the concept. We can see two horizontal screens on the dashboard (10.25-inch units likely), separated by vertically oriented AC vents. Steering wheel on this particular test mule is a makeshift unit shared with BE 6. A dedicated steering similar to concept is expected with final version.

Speaking of final production version, we can expect a new climate control panel and a more neatly integrated infotainment unit. This particular test mule had same screens and climate panel as a Thar. Centre console has a gear selector along with electronic parking brake and is expected to come with wireless charging pad, cup holders, engine start / stop switch and others.

Where powertrains are concerned, Mahindra Vision S production version will be positioned on the multi-energy NU_IQ platform. Petrol, Diesel, EV and Hybrid powertrain options are expected. Launch is likely to happen in 2027 and is expected to make a big splash in India’s sub 4m SUV space.
