TVS Motor Sales Aug 2026 at 4.34 Lakh 2Ws – eScooter Sales Up 137%

TVS Motor Company reported strong YoY growth in August 2026, with total two-wheeler and three-wheeler sales reaching 6,16,540 units. This was 21% higher than 5,09,536 units sold in August 2025. While the annual comparison remains strong across most categories, sales softened sequentially. Compared to 6,29,675 units sold in July 2026, overall volumes declined 2.09%.

Two-Wheeler Sales Up 21% YoY

TVS sold a total of 5,91,437 two-wheelers in August 2026, compared to 4,90,788 units in August 2025, registering 20.51% YoY growth. Domestic two-wheeler sales stood at 4,33,796 units, increasing 17.60% from 3,68,862 units a year ago. Domestic operations accounted for around 73% of TVS Motor’s two-wheeler volumes during the month.

Exports performed even better, increasing 29.29% YoY from 1,21,926 units to 1,57,641 units. Sequentially, however, both categories declined. Domestic two-wheeler sales were down 0.82% from July’s 4,37,394 units, while exports fell 4.89% from 1,65,744 units. Overall two-wheeler sales consequently declined 1.94% MoM.

Electric Scooter Sales Surge 137%

Electric scooters were among TVS Motor’s strongest-performing categories in August. The company sold 59,453 electric scooters, compared to 25,138 units in August 2025. This represents a massive 136.51% YoY increase, with volumes expanding by more than 34,000 units.

Electric scooters accounted for roughly 10% of TVS Motor’s total two-wheeler sales during August. On a sequential basis, however, EV volumes declined marginally. Sales were down 2.43% from 60,934 units recorded in July 2026.

Motorcycle, Scooter Sales Breakup No Longer Shared

One notable change is the absence of TVS Motor’s traditional motorcycle and scooter sales breakup. Previous monthly disclosures allowed motorcycle and scooter performance to be tracked independently. In its latest reporting format, however, TVS has provided domestic and export two-wheeler totals without separately revealing ICE motorcycle and scooter volumes.

As a result, individual category trends involving motorcycles or ICE scooters can no longer be determined from the company’s monthly wholesale release alone. Electric scooter sales remain separately disclosed at 59,453 units.

Three-Wheeler Sales Grow 34%

TVS Motor’s three-wheeler business also recorded strong YoY growth, with total sales reaching 25,103 units, up 33.90% from 18,748 units last year. Domestic three-wheeler volumes increased 56.25% to 8,292 units, while exports grew 25.07% to 16,811 units.

Exports continue to dominate TVS Motor’s three-wheeler business, contributing around 67% of volumes in August. Compared to July, total three-wheeler sales declined 5.40%, primarily due to a 9.23% drop in exports. Domestic three-wheeler sales, however, increased 3.43% MoM.

TVS August 2026 Sales – Overall Performance

Combining two- and three-wheelers, TVS recorded domestic sales of 4,42,088 units, up 18.15% YoY. Exports increased at an even stronger 28.87% to 1,74,452 units. Overall volumes consequently increased by 1,07,004 units YoY to 6,16,540 units.
