‘Enola Holmes 3’ Teaser: Millie Bobby Brown’s Spunky Kid Sister Detective Gets a New Case

...and this time, it's personal.

The gang’s (mostly) all back together for “Enola Holmes 3,” Netflix‘s sprightly Millie Bobby Brown-starring film franchise that sees the “Stranger Things” breakout stepping into some mighty big shoes as a member of the beloved (fictitious!) Holmes family.

Based on Nancy Springer’s book series “The Enola Holmes Mysteries,” the franchise imagines that the iconic detecting brothers Sherlock and Mycroft also have a smarty-pants little sister who is also gifted at detective work. Brown is, of course, the titular character here, a peppy and intelligent young lady who has a real panache for solving crimes and breaking the fourth wall during her many adventures.

Previous entries have seen Enola’s introduction to both detecting and her slightly standoffish older brothers (2020’s “Enola Holmes”) and the wider world and her place within it (2022’s “Enola Holmes 2,” which weaved in a very real story to the mystery afoot). This time around? Slightly more adult concerns.

Per the film’s official synopsis: “Adventure chases detective Enola Holmes to Malta, where personal and professional dreams collide on a case more tangled and treacherous than any she has faced before.” A first look at the film’s teaser offers up a bit more in the way of essential information, like that Enola and her beloved Tewkesbury are on the verge of marriage and, oops, it looks like all that happiness might be derailed by the kidnapping of her beloved brother, Sherlock.

Brown is joined by co-stars Louis Partridge, Himesh Patel, Sharon Duncan-Brewster, Susan Wokoma, Henry Cavill, and Helena Bonham Carter in the film.

The latest film in the series is written by Jack Thorne, who adapted the previous two screenplays from Springer’s work, and is directed by franchise newbie Philip Barantini, who previously directed all four episodes of smash hit series “Adolescence.” (Thorne, of course, co-created that series with Stephen Graham.)

Enola Holmes 3” is produced by Brown, Thorne, Mary Parent, Alex Garcia, Ali Mendes, Robert Brown, Michael Dreyer, Joshua Grode, Jake Bongiovi, and Isobel Richards.
