A pair of masked robbers reportedly stormed into a beauty salon in Nottinghamshire demanding cash before snatching the handbag of a customer. Police were called to the incident at Ayelashes in Victoria Road, Kirkby-in-Ashfield, at 6.05pm on Tuesday, October 1.

The offenders snatched a handbag belonging to the customer, which contained her mobile phone and AirPods, before making off from the scene, Nottinghamshire Police said. A member of staff was also inside, but no-one was hurt.

In a post on Instagram, the salon said: "As some of you are aware, we experienced a robbery in the salon last night. For clarity, myself and my client are both okay, we are just shaken."

Detective Sergeant Matthew Dumbrell said: “This was a distressing incident for the customer and staff member and we are determined to identify the people responsible. To this end I encourage any witnesses to please come forward immediately.

“We are particularly keen to hear from any drivers with dashcam footage in the area around the time of the incident.”
