Beautiful home and B&B in Nottinghamshire village has price slashed

Those interested will still have to stump up a large fee for the eight-bedroom property

A quaint family home-cum-bed and breakfast in a remote Nottinghamshire village has had its price slashed. Cliff Mill Farmhouse, in Gonalston just outside Lowdham, is listed for an asking price of between £1m and £1.25m.

The eight-bedroom property, currently a three-star hotel, is situated just off Southwell Road in the north of the county, opposite the tranquil Dover Beck stream. According to its brochure, the property boasts "rustic charm fused with contemporary comfort" and is around 300 years old.

Marketed now by Smith & Co Estates, the large dwelling was initially priced at £1.35m. But the "thriving business", a 3-star rated hotel, has been reduced in price by around £350,000.

From the outside, the property looks like it could be a simple family home. But while intended to be a private residence, the spacious interior of the home boasts four self-contained annexe rooms for guests, each with its own double bed - easily convertible into twin beds - and en suite.

There's enough parking for eight cars. Features upon entry include an oak staircase, oak doors and oak flooring, with the living room including a stone fireplace. The dining room, for family and guests, opens up to the sunlit courtyard garden.

In the impressive kitchen, modern worktops and appliances are complimented by a large central island with a sink, storage space and seating. And the welcoming, homely bedrooms feature wooden furnishings and televisions.
