ITV Coronation Street's Sue Cleaver flooded with support as she says 'goodbye' in sad loss

Coronation Street actress Sue Cleaver has received an outpouring of support following the sad loss of her pet dog, George. The star, known for her role as Eileen Grimshaw in the ITV soap, shared the news of George's passing in a heartfelt Instagram post.

Alongside a photo of her cherished pet, she wrote: "We have just had say goodbye to our best friend Gorgeous George Paws. Love them hard and let them go when they tell you it's time. RIP Georgy xxx #gorgeousgeorgepaws.'' Fellow Corrie actor Julia Goulding, who portrays Shona Platt, was quick to express her condolences, commenting: "No! Sue, I'm so so sorry my love. Gorgeous George Paws.

"Such a beautiful happy dog. You gave him such a wonderful life. Sending love. " Sally Carman-Duttine, who plays Abi Webster, also offered her sympathies: "I'm so sorry Sue, reports the Manchester Evening News.

" Former cast member Hayley Tamaddon added: "Oh nooooooo sue! mLittle George... I'm so sorry. Sending massive hugs.

"Fans and followers also expressed their condolences, with @omdpod writing: "So sorry to hear this Sue. We loved hearing all about Gorgeous George. Sending love. " @joeygillx said: "Oh Sue I'm so sorry to hear this.RIP George Paws. "

In the light of this news, Sue resumed her role as Eileen on the cobbles after her hiatus to play Mother Superior in Sister Act The Musical. In a twist of casting, the UK tour of Sister Act now stars Sue's former colleague Wendi Peters - known for her portrayal of Cilla Brown on Coronation Street.
