When temperatures plummet and indoor heating is turned up, condensation often forms on cold surfaces like windows. Boosting ventilation at home can help prevent this issue, which arises when warm, moist air meets a cold surface, causing water vapour to release and form droplets.

However, for those trying to keep heating costs down, opening windows isn't always feasible. Fortunately, one individual has discovered a "life-saving" solution to remove moisture from a room, particularly crucial as he previously experienced "horrible mould marks".

Mould is not only unsightly but can also cause respiratory problems if left untreated. Online content creator Gazza Thompson from Durham shared the product with his 125k TikTok followers - a condensation and moisture bag.

In a recent clip, Gazza showed how his bedroom windows would be covered in condensation every morning, but he has managed to prevent it with this product. "The last two years these have been an absolute life-saver, and it's as simple as hanging it up behind the curtain," he said.

Gazza continued: "Before I started hanging these up in winter I used to get horrible, horrible mould marks above the window, but now since I [started using them], no more.", reports the Mirror.

A content creator has shared a simple trick to prevent moisture build-up and paint cracking in the home. He explained that due to a faulty extractor fan in his en-suite bathroom, moisture was causing the paint on the wall to crack.

However, using a condensation and moisture bag solved the issue. He demonstrated that a bag hung up for two weeks had collected a significant amount of moisture.

"If that wasn't in the bag it would be getting on the walls and the ceiling, and I'd be getting even more cracks in the paint," he said. He recommended these bags as a game-changer for anyone with similar issues.

The bags can be bought from Amazon at £13.93 for 12, which works out at just £1.16 per bag. Other ways to combat condensation include opening windows at night, keeping curtains open, and maintaining a low, constant temperature, according to Screw Fix.
