Dangerous heat index to hit 40 areas on May 20 — PAGASA

Under PAGASA’s classification, “danger” levels range from 42°C to 51°C.
San Ildefonso, Bulacan is expected to hit the highest heat index at 45°C.
Meanwhile, the weather bureau identified areas expected to experience heat index levels between 42°C and 44°C.

PAGASA warned that the danger-level heat index may cause heat cramps and heat exhaustion, while prolonged exposure may lead to heat stroke. It advised the public to limit outdoor activities and bring umbrellas for protection.
Cloudy skies, scattered rains expected nationwide
PAGASA said the country will experience partly cloudy skies with isolated rains and thunderstorms on Wednesday.
In its 4 a.m. weather bulletin, PAGASA said Visayas, MIMAROPA and Bicol Region will continue to experience weather conditions caused by the easterlies, while Metro Manila and the rest of the country may be affected by localized thunderstorms.
PAGASA also warned of possible flash floods and landslides during severe thunderstorms.
