MANILA, Philippines — The House of Representatives is set to vote on whether to impeach Vice President Sara Duterte, following committee hearings on the complaints filed against her.

The plenary vote will determine whether the impeachment case is transmitted to the Senate for trial. It comes amid continued objections from Duterte's camp and political pressure from allies and critics ahead of the proceedings.

The impeachment charges against Vice President Sara Duterte center on allegations of misuse of confidential funds, unexplained wealth and threats against President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and other officials.
