President Trump said no Israeli troops will advance into Beirut after he held a "very productive" conversation with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as talks over ending a war in the Middle East have stalled.

In a statement on Truth Social, Trump wrote, "I had a very productive call with Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu of Israel, and there will be no troops going to Beirut, and any troops that are on their way have already been turned back."

Similarly, Trump wrote that Hezbollah has also agreed to cease attacks on Israel. "Likewise, through highly placed representatives, I had a very good call with Hezbollah, and they agreed that all shooting will stop."

"That Israel will not attack them, and they will not attack Israel," he concluded.

Trump's tweet signals a key effort to de-escalate the tension which reached a boiling point in the battle between Israel and Hezbollah.
