Lauren Boebert’s adult son arrested on child sexual exploitation charges

The adult son of Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert has been arrested in Colorado on charges including sexual exploitation of a child, authorities said.

According to Garfield County court records, Tyler Boebert was arrested over the weekend on suspicion of five felonies linked to alleged offences dating back to early 2024.

Authorities said the charges include sexual exploitation of a child and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Boebert's bond was set at $10,000 and he was released from teh Garfield County jail on Sunday. It was not immediately clear whether he had retained a lawyer in the case.

Rep. Boebert addressed her son's arrest in a statement to MS NOW on Monday.

“I love my son. We take these allegations very seriously and pray for everyone affected during this challenging time,” she said.

Tyler Boebert has previously faced criminal charges. In 2024, he pleaded guilty to felony attempted identity theft in connection with a series of vehicle break-ins.

Lauren Boebert was first elected to Congress in 2020 to represent Colorado's 3rd Congressional District before moving to the state's 4th District.

The Republican congresswoman has previously spoken publicly in support of sexual abuse victims and backed efforts to force the Justice Department to release documents related to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
