Victor Wembanyama exits game with suspected concussion after fall in Spurs vs Trail Blazers clash

San Antonio Spurs star Victor Wembanyama left Tuesday night’s Game 2 against the Portland Trail Blazers after a heavy fall that raised concerns of a concussion.

The incident occurred in the second quarter when Wembanyama drove into the paint and was fouled by Jrue Holiday.

Helost his balance and fell face first onto the court, with his jaw appearing to take the impact.

Wembanyama remained on the floor for around 30 seconds before sitting up and speaking briefly with teammate Stephon Castle.

Play was stopped as Spurs coach Mitch Johnson called a timeout to check on him.

After regaining his feet, Wembanyama walked off the court and headed straight down the tunnel.

The team later confirmed he had entered concussion protocol and would not return to the game.

Before leaving, the recently crowned Kia NBA Defensive Player of the Year had recorded five points and four rebounds in 12 minutes.

Any prolonged absence would be a significant setback for San Antonio, which finished the regular season with the league’s second-best record and has relied heavily on Wembanyama’s presence at both ends of the floor.
