Bijan Robinson becomes NFL's highest-paid running back with Falcons deal

The Atlanta Falcons have agreed to a three-year contract extension with star running back Bijan Robinson worth up to $75 million, making him the highest-paid running back in NFL history, according to ESPN.

The deal includes $51 million guaranteed and ends Robinson's week-long hold-in at training camp. The 24-year-old is now under contract with Atlanta through the 2030 season.

The extension will pay Robinson an a average of $22.25 million per year, surpassing Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley as the league's highest-paid player at the position.

Robinson enjoyed a standout 2025 campaign, leading the NFL in scrimmage yards with 2,298 while rushing for 1,478 yards, the fourth-highest total in the league.

The Falcons have spent the offseason securing several key players on long-term deals. Wide receiver Drake London signed a four-year extension worth $141.05 million, while tight end Kyle Pitts agreed a three-year, $54 million contract. Offensive lineman Matthew Bergeron also signed a four-year extension last week.

Atlanta selected Robinson with the eighth overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
