Trump suggests canceling Great American State Fair performances after several musicians withdraw

President Trump reportedly proposed canceling all the musical performances at the Great American State Fair in Washington, marking a significant shift after several musicians announced they were pulled out of the event.

The organization, Freedom 25 behind the event announced on Saturday that Trump would “kick off’ the state fair with an opening ceremony on June 24.

Trump will headline an event commemorating the nation’s 250th anniversary on the National Mall next month. This comes after organizers announced on Saturday that several musical performers scheduled to appear in the celebration had dropped out, raising concerns over the event’s political ties.

In this connection, Daniele Alvarez for Freedom 250 said: “ As the visionary behind the Great American State Fair, we are excited to announce that President Trump will personally kick off this historic celebration on Wednesday, June 24 in an opening ceremony celebrating America's 250th birthday.”

According to Trump, he is considering replacing highly paid third-rate artists with himself. On Saturday, Trump said on his Truth Social platform that organizers should scrap its musical concert lineup completely.

“We would have a giant MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN RALLY for 250 instead of having overpriced singers who nobody wants to hear, whose music is boring and nothing to do but complain.” further added.

Freedom 250 officially announced a lineup of artists to perform concerts on the National Mall from June 24 to July 10. But most of those artists canceled at the last moment, mounting concerns that the event would be highly political.

Bret Michaels became the fifth performer to drop out of the concerts. The prime reason behind is that the event was not the traditional gathering that he thought it would be.

Meanwhile the actual reasons for the departures have not been disclosed. But the exit has sparked concerns regarding the sustainability of the event as originally projected.

As reported by CBS News, Morvan of Milli Vanilli, Vanilla Ice, Freedom Williams, and Flo Rida are still in line to perform.
