Mahindra is set to strengthen its portfolio with the Scorpio X pickup truck, likely to launch in 2026. While many manufacturers focus solely on EVs and hybrids, Mahindra plans to expand both its internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric vehicle (EV) offerings to enhance sales. Here’s a quick overview of what we currently know about Mahindra’s upcoming pickup truck.

In November 2023, Mahindra filed a design patent for a Scorpio N-based pickup and has now trademarked the name “Scorpio X” in India. While it’s not confirmed which model will use this name, speculation indicates it could refer to the production-ready version of the Mahindra Global Pik Up.

Mahindra Scorpio X Design

The Mahindra Scorpio X will share the design with the Scorpio N, featuring a similar front end and headlight design. However, it has updated LED DRLs and a revised front bumper. It also includes a snorkel next to the driver’s side A-pillar. While the design patent reflects this look, the final market version will be toned down compared to the concept.

The Mahindra Scorpio X pickup truck will feature an updated mHawk 2.2-litre diesel engine from the Scorpio N, producing 175 PS of peak power and a max torque of 400 Nm. In addition, the pickup truck will also offer four-wheel drive (4WD) and come with a choice of a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission.

Mahindra Scorpio X Price

While the Mahindra Scorpio X has not been officially confirmed, it may launch in India by 2026, with an expected starting price of around Rs 25 lakh (ex-showroom). When launched, it will compete with the likes of the Isuzu V-Cross and Toyota Hilux pickup trucks.
