Indian equities have a strong chance of touching new lifetime highs if a few ongoing macro, policy, and liquidity uncertainties settle down. The market is already close to its previous peaks, so even small positive triggers can be enough to pull the Sensex and Nifty to fresh records, provided there are no major global shocks in the near term.
A big driver right now is global sentiment. Expectations of rate cuts by the US Federal Reserve have improved risk appetite across emerging markets, including India. This has encouraged foreign investors to increase their buying. If US bond yields remain stable or move lower, and if there are no new banking or geopolitical issues globally, foreign institutional inflows into Indian stocks may continue.
On the domestic side, macro stability remains critical. If inflation stays within the RBI’s target range, the central bank will have room to take a more dovish stance or even consider a rate cut later. Equity markets usually react positively to such signals. Upcoming data releases such as IIP, GDP growth, and monthly inflation will play a big role in shaping these expectations. Strong growth numbers combined with manageable inflation can quickly lift market sentiment. Progress on trade negotiations and political stability will also influence market momentum. · 10-year US Treasury yields have decreased 3.5% during the past four days, coming back to 4.00% level, amid heightened rate cut expectations. US macro data revealed indications of declining inflation and increased the Federal Reserve’s leeway to further lower interest rates. Consequently, this situation helps the precious metals to trade higher and push the US dollar to a one-week low.
· The likelihood that the Fed would lower interest rates by 25 basis points to 3.50%–3.75% at the December meeting has risen to 85.3% from 50.1% a week ago, according to the CME FedWatch tool.
· Furthermore, a persistent increase in the price of the precious metal is limited by expectations of a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine. However, given that investors are now looking to more US data for some encouragement, the fundamental background indicates that the path of least resistance for gold is to the upward.

However, it is still hovering near a crucial resistance zone of 26,200–26,277, which coincides with the upper trendline and prior supply area. Sustaining above this level will be key for further upside toward 26,400–26,500 in the near term. On the downside, 25,800–25,750 remains an important immediate support, followed by a stronger base near 25,500, where the 50-day moving average is placed. Momentum indicators also supporting the trend Overall, the trend remains positive above key supports, but traders should adopt a buy-on-dips strategy until a decisive breakout above resistance confirms renewed strength.
