Road Closed, SH8, Tekapo - Canterbury

State Highway 8/Tekapo-Twizel Road is closed following a serious crash in Tekapo this afternoon.

Emergency services were called to a two vehicle crash on SH8 at around 4.30pm.

There are reports of serious injuries.

The road is closed south of the Tekapo-Pukaki Canal Bridge near Tekapo Canal Road, and will be closed for several hours.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area and delay travel.
