Epic Games Confirms Rocket League Transition to Unreal Engine 6

The long-awaited announcement by the fans of Rocket League has finally been made. Epic Games and Psyonix have announced that Rocket League will now be played using the Unreal Engine 6. The announcement was made during the ongoing Rocket League Championship Series Paris Major tournament, which quickly became a topic of discussion among fans.

Rocket League Moving Beyond Unreal Engine 3 to Unreal Engine 6

Since its launch in 2015, Unreal Engine 3 was used in the development of Rocket League which is an old game engine, hence limiting the developers from implementing major advancements in technology over time.

For several years, many people have expressed dissatisfaction over slow updates, outdated menu screens, boring season events, and lack of innovation in the game.

These problems largely exist due to technical constraints on UE3. Fortunately, newer engines offer superior rendering capabilities, better lighting, better networking capabilities, and faster production cycles – all of which UE6 will bring.
