A Minecraft Movie Squared Officially Announced With 2027 Release Date

Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures have announced the name of the much-awaited sequel of A Minecraft Movie. The second part of the movie will be titled A Minecraft Movie Squared, following up on the massive blockbusters based on the popular sandbox video game developed by Mojang.
It is being followed after the release of a very successful video game movie that made its mark in Hollywood history. The initial version of the movie grossed over $163 million domestically, making an overall revenue of around $960 million globally.
Minecraft Movie Squared Release Date Confirmed for Summer 2027
Fans won’t have to wait forever to return to the blocky world of Minecraft. A Minecraft Movie Squared is officially scheduled to premiere in theaters on July 23, 2027. Production on the sequel is already underway, with director Jared Hess returning to helm the project.
Hess also co-wrote the screenplay alongside Chris Galletta, helping shape the next chapter of the Minecraft cinematic universe.

Returning Stars and New Cast Members
There will be several other favorites making a comeback into this second edition. One is Jack Black who will be playing Steve once again, the expert and guide in the world of Minecraft.
Academy award nominee Kirsten Dunst is also rumored to be joining the cast to play Alex, one of the most recognizable characters from the game.
Matt Berry, who played an unknown role in the first movie, is also expected to make a comeback in the second edition.
In honor of the sequel, the Mineccraft have organized The Minecraft Movie Build Challenge where the fans can get actively involved in making the film.
The participants are asked to make a movie build in Minecraft for the chance of getting their build featured in the film or at least its credits. The winner will even get a chance to watch the film privately along with his/her friends and family members.
