The Valorant community is experiencing a huge loss. Pro Valorant Player Tyler “sym” Porter was killed in a road accident on May 5, 2026. The young man was just 21 years old. According to reports, Porter was enjoying a special trip for his 21st birthday celebration when he was involved in the accident. Austen Reed, also known by his gamer name “yuno,” lost his life in the same accident.

Porter was an important figure within the North American Valorant scene. He started off as a pro gamer with TSM Academy roster. In 2024, he transitioned from TSM Academy to TSM main roster. Many analysts believed that Porter was one of the brightest stars in Tier-2 league. Porter had made his return into the competition through Winthrop University.
