Ferry carrying over 260 people capsizes off Cyprus: reports
· DWA rescue operation has been launched after a passenger boat carrying more than 260 people capsized off northern Cyprus, media reported.
A passenger ferry capsized off the coast of northern Cyprus on Sunday, the local government said.
"All necessary preparations are being made for a swift response from rescue and health services," the Health Ministry of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus said in a statement.
Turkish media reported that a ferry carrying around 270 passengers was traveling from the port of Kyrenia, also known as Girne, to the Turkish port of Tasucu in Mersin province.
There are no reports of casualties so far.
