‘Resident Evil 2’ Lumbers to Apple Devices on December 10
by Mike Wilson · Bloody DisgustingCapcom’s Resident Evil 2 remake will be joining the Resident Evil 4 remake, Resident Evil Village and Resident Evil 7 on the App Store before the year is out. Originally revealed back in July as “coming soon” to Apple devices, Capcom has now announced Resident Evil 2 will be available on all iPhone 16 models, iPhone 15 Pro models, and every iPad and Mac with the M1 chip or later on December 10.
Much like what was done with Resident Evil 4, players will be able to try a portion of Resident Evil 2 with a free download before purchasing the full experience. The game includes support for Universal Purchase and cross-progression, enabling players to enjoy the game across iPhone, iPad, and Mac, while being able to transfer save data between devices.
Resident Evil 2 on iPhone and iPad includes enhanced controls along with a new Auto Fire feature, giving players the option to automatically fire weapons after aiming at enemies for a short time. The title also supports a range of compatible controllers on iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
The addition of Resident Evil 2 to Apple devices will hopefully fare better for Capcom, as sales for Resident Evil 7 didn’t quite fare so well upon its initial release back in July.
Resident Evil 2 is also available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series, the Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.
