Max’s Slasher Series “Pretty Little Liars” Cancelled After Two Seasons

by · Bloody Disgusting

The slasher-themed relaunch of the series “Pretty Little Liars” began with “Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin” back in 2022, and it was followed by new story “Pretty Little Liars: Summer School” earlier this year. Unfortunately, the slasher spinoff has been cancelled.

After two seasons, “Pretty Little Liars” has been killed off at Max this week.

“While Max will not be moving forward with a third season of ‘Pretty Little Liars,’ we are so grateful to our co-creators, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Lindsay Calhoon Bring, as well as the team at Warner Bros. Television, for reintroducing fans to this new iteration of liars who band together to fight the latest creepy villain terrifying Millwood,” Max said. “Their unique and modern creative vision – combined with the immense talent of our cast and crew – gave the series a fun, horror-filled point of view that paid tribute to its original Rosewood roots.”

“Pretty Little Liars” was created, written, and executive produced by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa (“Riverdale,” “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina”) and Lindsay Calhoon Bring (“Chilling Adventures of Sabrina”). Aguirre-Sacasa’s Muckle Man Productions and Alloy Entertainment produce, in association with Warner Bros. Television.

Marlene King (who developed the original Pretty Little Liars), Michael Grassi, Caroline Baron, and Alloy’s Leslie Morgenstein and Gina Girolamo were executive producers of the series, which is based upon the bestselling book series by Sara Shepard.
