What are we all playing this weekend?
Well? Do tell!
· Rock Paper ShotgunSurprise, Friday WAP attack! No, I've (hopefully) not mucked up the time the WAPs are posted, as I did last time this particular RPSponsibility was trusted to me. It's a long weekend here in the UK thanks to the bank holidays around Easter. More time for playing games, in theory. Assuming you don't get trapped in a giant chocolate egg or something equally terrifying.
Edwin
This weekend and the week after I will be playing whatever games I can fit into the laptop I'm going to be lugging through over 100, mostly vertical miles of Welsh countryside. Assuming I'm not too knackered to play those games in the morning or evening. Yes! I am going on holiday. Constant disorientation and the risk of being headbutted by sheep counts as a holiday, right? Ah dang, I wish I'd stayed home. I wish I'd stayed home and played more of Cairn. Or maybe I could have made a start in Menace. I like the sound of that update with the new CQC city map.
Jeremy
Jeremy's passport was last stamped by customs officers in Sweden. It's since been found floating in a pond near Torquay.
Julian
Having spent last weekend inundated with nieces and nephews, and largely in the kitchen making cakes and curry to feed 15, this weekend I will play some games.
I picked up a copy of Cyberpunk 2077 in the Steam Spring Sale and I'm looking forward to spending some long hours in Night City. The last time I played the game was at a preview event in 2020, long before its glow up, and I stayed well out of the discourse at launch, so I'm hoping to have an untrammelled time with a big AAA game - a rare experience.
I've also been playing Raccoin, a game that recreates the coin dropping machines you find in the arcade at seaside towns but seen through the lens of Balatro's stacking modifiers. I've played for an enjoyable hour so far, but there's an increasingly loud voice telling me I'm just enjoying the addicting bright colours and flashing lights.
Dion
It's been claimed Dion's last known location was a motel in Arizona. His current whereabouts are unknown.
Ollie:
Unexpectedly, Overwatch is likely to be my most played game this week. I've been sucked back in by all the new heroes, and learning them has been a real blast. Probably the most fun I've had with it since the old days. In our group of three, we've figured out that the best way to keep one hand on the steering wheel of our team comp is for one of us to queue for DPS, and the other two to queue as any role. We can make do with uncommunicative randoms for tanks and supports, but it's a special kind of agony to have two DPS players with no clue what they're doing.
James
Unconfirmed reports from mouthy koalas claim James has been spotted wandering the Australian outback.

I’ve got a friend coming to visit for the bank holiday weekend, so I doubt I’ll be delving into much. However, I found a timeloop mystery game on Steam called Discopup the other day, where you play as a seal that wants to get cronked up on a night out, but the hottest club in town is exclusively for dogs, kicking off an adventure to find a disguise worthy enough to trick the bouncer. There’s an entire segment where you find a toy gun to have a duel with a child, only for the child to pull out a real gun, kill you, and send you to heaven, where you meet an angel who refuses you entry through the pearly white gates because “only dogs go to heaven.” I’m obsessed and thus will be telling my friend to piss off so I can play more.
Mark
I'm about eight hours into my first Atomfall playthrough since completing it for review last year. I'm enjoying it more this time around. I've just started one of the DLCs, and a 350 ywar old monk is talking to me through old fisherman. I'm intrigued to see where that goes. Aside from possibly being ambushed by [redacted], I'll prob do a bit more Tokyo Xtreme Racering and check out Automobilista 2's latest update. The latter adds some new retro F1 cars to the sim.
And you, reader dear, what are you playing this weekend...?
