What are we all playing this weekend?

Well? Do tell!

It's well and truly not summer now. I'm writing this with the lights on because the screen's backlight is suddenly too bright for these eyes grown weak and lazy by the abundance of natural illumination.

I shall have to train them up again by staring into torches with progressively larger lumen counts. Eventually glaring down the lens of the IMALENT MS32's night-vanquishing 200,000 lumens.

And there I thought I wouldn't have anything to do while visiting my parents, but it sounds like I have a training regime to embrace.

I’m in Leeds this weekend, so little to no video games for me. I am, however, watching the Resident Evil movie, and although I doubt he will, if my beautiful boy Nemesis shows up, I will launch out of my chair and cheer like a proud Dad watching his son score a goal in a little league game. I kind of hope he doesn’t, because I’ll be on a date, and I expect that’ll decimate any budding romantic chemistry I was somehow building up until this point.

I need to play Roman Sands before Edwin murders me in what, medically, is known as a Why Are You Not Playing Roman Sands Blood Rage (WAYNPRSBR).

Well, I need to play Control: Resonant before James clobbers me with his shapeshifting baseball bat. I also need to play [redacted] and buy some new shoes. I have holes in all my shoes now, and the weather is turning.

It's gonna be more Crusader Kings 3 for me, plus maybe a bit of Automobilista 2 now I've decided I'm partial to a bit of simmy driving around in circles again.

I gave Wardogs a try the other day, and I'm expecting I'll play a lot more. That game has some pretty clever design decisions running through it. It's well ahead of the curve compared to Battlefield.

I finished The Blood of Dawnwalker earlier this week, and will probably take a break this weekend to reflect on how I went the Folk Hero route and solo'ed Brencis because none of my allies were all that reliable. (My Coen has issues after Anca dumped him.) That said, there is the possibility that I might go back to playing Ogre Battle: The March of the Black Queen - that's right, the SNES game - which I started earlier this year but have put off because finding all of those secret locations on the map required a guide. (Hah, look at the guide writer needing a guide)

While with my family the only game I'll likely be playing is Racing Demon, which is a kind of competitive solitaire that has been a Benson steadfast since long before I was born. I remember the first family holiday it was decidedI was old enough to learn (with the handicap of only a five card Demon) and how that quickly rose to a regulation thirteen. Not because I was good at the game, you have to understand, but because my parents thought getting used to losing would build my character. At a cousin's wedding this summer, there was a room set up with a long card table and the Benson contingent would have missed the speeches if the bride hadn't delayed them so she could finish her round.
