With Christmas just around the corner and its many traditions returning, the Grinch — the nasty, green, hairy, cynical yet hilarious character — is once again making an appearance, as in the United States, where for several years some people have taken to wearing green costumes to play dirty tricks in the streets, sometimes more or less in collusion with the police, as Morgan Ayre reports.
