SEOUL, May 27 : Shares of SK Hynix surged on Wednesday, taking the market capitalisation of the South Korean chipmaker above $1 trillion.

Shares rose as much as 11.1 per cent to an all-time high in early trade, lifting the company's total market value to 1,624 trillion won ($1.08 trillion).
