Oil prices rise more than $2 on Israel strikes on Lebanon

BEIJING, June 8 : Oil prices were up more than $2 a barrel in early trading on Monday after Israel on Sunday launched strikes on the Beirut area for the first time since the U.S. announced a ceasefire plan for Lebanon.

U.S. crude futures were up $2.57 at $93.11 per barrel as of 2215 GMT, while Brent crude futures rose $2.67 to $95.76 a barrel.
