TOKYO, April 30 : Japan's factory output unexpectedly fell 0.5 per cent in March from the previous month versus the median market forecast for a 1.1 per cent gain, hit by shrinking output in chemical and petroleum products, government data showed on Thursday.
Manufacturers surveyed by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry expect seasonally adjusted output to rise 2.1 per cent in April and increase 2.2 per cent in May.
