LONDON, June 30 : Highlights of the second day at Wimbledon on Tuesday (times GMT):

1400 SWIATEK ADVANCES

Third seed Iga Swiatek survived a stern test from American Taylor Townsend, recovering from a second-set dip to seal a 6-1 2-6 6-3 victory. The defending champion appeared overcome with emotion after match point, burying her head in a towel as she celebrated the hard-fought win.

Earlier, sixth seed Taylor Fritz enjoyed a more straightforward passage, dispatching Serbia's Dusan Lajovic 6-3 6-4 6-3 to kick off his campaign.
