The United States and Iran said on Sunday (Jun 14) they reached a deal to end the Middle East war on all fronts, including Lebanon, and reopen the Strait of Hormuz, but offered little indication on the thorny question of Tehran's nuclear programme.
"The deal with the Islamic Republic of Iran is now complete. Congratulations to all!" US President Donald Trump said on his Truth Social network, shortly after mediator Pakistan said both sides had reached an agreement.
Washington and Islamabad said the agreement was to be signed on Friday in Switzerland.
Hours after the announcement, however, Israel's defence minister said that Israeli forces would remain in Lebanon.
