Today’s NYT ‘Connections’ Hints And Answers For Tuesday, November 19
by Kris Holt · ForbesLooking for Monday’s Connections hints and answers instead? You can find them here:
Hey, there! I hope your week’s off to a great start.
I’m once again looking at the list of games I’m hoping to play before assembling my annual Games of the Year list and it’s becoming increasingly daunting. It’s probably time to start culling some titles from the list that I’m less confident about getting to — and maybe actually playing more things instead of further rotting my brain with endless social media fluff. I really have to get through Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and a few other things on Game Pass before my subscription expires next week.
Anyway! Today’s NYT Connections hints and answers for Tuesday, November 19, are coming right up.
How To Play Connections
Connections is a free, popular New York Times daily word game. You get a new puzzle at midnight every day. You can play on the NYT website or Games app.
You’re presented with a grid of 16 words. Your task is to arrange them into four groups of four by figuring out the links between them. The groups could be things like items you can click, names for research study participants or words preceded by a body part.

There’s only one solution for each puzzle, and you’ll need to be careful when it comes to words that might fit into more than one category. You can shuffle the words to perhaps help you see links between them.
Each group is color coded. The yellow group is usually the easiest to figure out, blue and green fall in the middle, and the purple group is usually the most difficult one. The purple group often involves wordplay.
Select four words you think go together and press Submit. If you make a guess and you’re incorrect, you’ll lose a life. If you’re close to having a correct group, you might see a message telling you that you’re one word away from getting it right, but you’ll still need to figure out which one to swap.
If you make four mistakes, it’s game over. Let’s make sure that doesn’t happen with the help of some hints, and, if you’re really struggling, today’s Connections answers. As with Wordle and other similar games, it’s easy to share results with your friends on social media and group chats.
If you have an NYT All Access or Games subscription, you can access the Connections archive. This includes every previous game of Connections, so you can go back and play any of those that you have missed.
Aside from the first 60 games or so, you should be able to find my hints for each grid via Google if you need them! Just click here and add the date of the game for which you need clues or the answers to the search query.

No perfect game, but today's game marks a threepeat. A new streak is underway, y'all. Here's how I fared:

Alas, JEOPARDY, WHEEL, PASSWORD and CONCENTRATION did not form a group, Nor was I one away from a collective of game shows.
I then tried a guess of PASSWORD, FACE, FINGERPRINT and EAR in terms of authentication methods. I was aware that ears are unique and can be used for verification purposes, but I was one away from a group. Of course, PIN was the missing fourth word to give me the greens.
The yellows, in hindsight, were pretty obvious and I got those next. I then got a little lucky with the blues. I figured WHEEL was a reference to the knee and RIBBON was the only other thing that kinda made sense as a term for a joint. At least I figured out the purple connection before sealing the win.

P.S. One of my bucket list bands that I loved as a kid and still (realistically) haven't seen live is Deftones. Those first few albums were stellar and I don't think I've ever heard a bad song from them.
They're not visiting my city on their early 2025 tour, unfortunately, and I have a lot of other shows close to home around that time, so I probably won't travel to see them this time around. In any case, I'm going to be vibing to their timeless, melodic, experimental metal all day:
