Looking for Wednesday’s Strands hints, spangram and answers? You can find them here:

Tis the day of Thor and as such we must celebrate all things thunderous and storm-wild. The latest bit of media I’ve seen the Norse god featured in is Zack Snyder’s new animated Netflix show Twilight Of The Gods, which—so far at least—is actually quite good, and I say this as a pretty harsh critic of much of Snyder’s work. Thor is a right bastard in it, though.

But I digress. We’re not here to discuss Norse gods or TV shows, we’re here to solve today’s Strands grid!

Strands is the newest game in the New York Times’ stable of puzzle games. It’s a fun twist on classic word search games. Every day we’re given a new theme and then tasked with uncovering all the words on the grid that fit that theme, including a spangram that spans two sides of the board. One of these words is the spangram which crosses from one side of the grid to another and reveals even more about the day’s theme.

Spoilers ahead.

Today’s Strands Breakdown

This Strands was both easy and challenging. Easy because I found BUZZ and PIXIE right away and then SHAG and then SHORTCUTS and FADE then FLATTOP and I was on this awesome roll and then . . . got stuck. PAGEBOY and FAUXHAWK, despite being the last two, really stumped me. They had a lot of letters and it was hard to bring order to the chaos. I found PAGE and BOY and it wasn’t until I realized they needed to be stuck together that I figured out the cut, which I’d never heard of before. FAUHHAWK is just tricky!
