Renown ex-Ozzy Osbourne Guitarist Jake E. Lee was reportedly shot multiple times early morning on October 15th (Tuesday), in what authorities believe was a random shooting in Las Vegas. Lee was out walking his dog when the incident occurred and he’s since been in intensive care and is expected to make a full recovery.

The following press release was issued regarding the incident:

October 15, 2024 — As confirmed by management, legendary rock guitarist Jake E. Lee (Ozzy Osbourne, Badlands, Red Dragon Cartel) was shot multiple times early this morning in a Las Vegas, NV street shooting. Lee is fully conscious and doing well in an intensive care unit at a Las Vegas hospital. He is expected to fully recover.

Las Vegas authorities believe the shooting was completely random and occurred while Lee took his dog out for a walk in the early morning hours. As the incident is under police investigation, no further comments will be forthcoming. Lee and his family appreciate respecting their privacy at this time.”

No further details have been revealed at this time regarding the shooting incident.

Jake E. Lee took up lead guitar for Ozzy Osbourne following the death of Randy Rhoads in 1982, and he’s credited for performing on hit albums Bark At The Moon (1983) and The Ultimate Sin (1986).

While Lee’s time in Osbourne’s band was rather short, he still held in high regard among other 80s guitarist for his virtuosic playing and iconic solos in songs “Bark At The Moon,” “Shot In The Dark,” and “Killer of Giants.”
