Over 3800 Amarnath pilgrims leave from Jammu base camp

Jammu, Aug 2:  More than 3800 Shri Amarnath Yatra pilgrims on Sunday left for the cave shrine in South Kashmir Himalayas here from Bhagwati Nagar base camp.

As per officials, a fresh batch of 3886 pilgrims departed from the Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas only for the Baltal base camp.

The batch left in a fleet of 177 vehicles under elaborate security arrangements.

No convoy was dispatched for the Pahalgam route, they said.

The annual pilgrimage is scheduled to conclude on August 28, coinciding with the festival of Raksha Bandhan.

More than 4.5 lakh pilgrims so far have paid obeisance at the holy cave shrine. (UNI)
