EC to Announce Assembly Poll Schedule for 4 States, 1 UT Today

New Delhi: The Election Commission of India will announce the schedule for upcoming Assembly elections in four states and one Union Territory at 4 PM today.

Assembly elections are due in Assam, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu and Kerala, along with the Union Territory of Puducherry.

The term of the 294-member West Bengal Legislative Assembly will end on May 7, while the tenure of the 126-member Assam Assembly is set to expire on May 20. The 140-member Kerala Legislative Assembly will complete its term on May 23.

In Tamil Nadu, the tenure of the 234-member Assembly will end on May 10.

Meanwhile, the term of the 30-member Assembly in Puducherry will conclude on June 15.

The announcement by the Election Commission of India will set the stage for the electoral process in these states and the Union Territory. (Agencies)
