CBSE Opens Portal for Answer Sheet Verification, Re-Evaluation Till June 6
by Northlines · NorthlinesNEW DELHI, Jun 2: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Tuesday opened its online portal for verification of issues in scanned copies of answer books and re-evaluation of answers for students dissatisfied with their board examination results.
The facility is available only to students who have already obtained scanned copies of their evaluated answer books. According to CBSE, the portal will remain open from June 2 to June 6 (midnight), and applications will be accepted only through online mode.
Students must log in through the CBSE website using their Aadhaar number and complete the application and fee payment process digitally. The board clarified that no offline applications or requests submitted after the deadline will be entertained.
Students can report issues such as missing pages, missing supplementary sheets, missing maps or graphs, blurred pages, incorrect answer books, or evaluation against a different question paper set. The fee for verification of issues is Rs 100 per answer book, while re-evaluation will cost Rs 25 per question.
CBSE said students may submit only one application each for verification and re-evaluation and should ensure all subject-related requests are included before final submission. Once the “Freeze and Proceed to Payment” option is selected, details cannot be modified.
The board also stated that applications will be considered complete only after successful online payment through UPI, debit card, credit card or net banking. Students seeking re-evaluation must provide details such as question number and page number while applying.
To facilitate the process, CBSE has made available a visual guide and tutorial video. Aadhaar-based verification has also been introduced for security purposes. In cases where a student does not possess an Aadhaar card, the Aadhaar details of a parent, guardian or relative may be used.
The portal was launched after a delay, as CBSE had earlier indicated that the process would begin by May 29. The move comes amid concerns raised by students and parents regarding the On-Screen Marking (OSM) system, including complaints of technical glitches, payment failures and access-related issues during the verification and re-evaluation process.
