J&K: 4 Soldiers Injured in Accidental Landmine Blast in Rajouri
by Northlines · NorthlinesRajouri: Four Army personnel, including a Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO), were injured in an accidental landmine explosion near the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district on Tuesday, officials said.
The incident occurred in the forward Kalal area of the Nowshera sector during an area domination patrol, when a landmine was inadvertently triggered, they added.
All four injured personnel were immediately evacuated to a nearby military medical facility for treatment, where their condition is stated to be stable.
Officials said the forward areas along the LoC are heavily mined as part of anti-infiltration measures. However, adverse weather conditions, including rains, sometimes lead to displacement or exposure of mines, resulting in accidental explosions during patrols.
Security forces continue to maintain heightened vigilance in the region, which has witnessed similar incidents in the past due to difficult terrain and sensitive border management requirements.
Further details are awaited.
